Hello @internet, welcome to my homepage. My name is Thomas and I am a computer scientist at the University of Applied Sciences Worms. Due to my interests in computers and the many helpful blogs of others, which I have read before and during my education, I decided to start my own blog to share with others my own experiences in the IT field.
But for now some information about me. Most of the time I use different GNU/Linux distributions but for the most part my favorite distribution is GNU/Linux Debian. That’s also the distribution which many years ago awoke my interests in Debian Squeeze and later on my friendship with the fantastic world of Open Source Software. I think my love towards Open Source is another reason for me, why I decided to start an own blog. Another interest of mine next to Linux systems is their security, or better said the IT security in general, and that is why I joined “Squareroots” - a professional CTF Team, in 2020, to deepen my knowledge in that area too.
Due to the interests I told you above, I planned to write about the following topics:
- Setup of different services on top of Linux (Servers/Desktops)
- Hardening of Linux systems
- Server orchestration using Ansible or Salt
- IT Security in general and other topics that I spontaneously feel like.
